G20 Techsprint 2021 Update
QuantCube competed in the final round of G20 TechSprint 2021 on Sept 1. The high profile green and sustainable finance challenge was jointly organized by Banca d’Italia and the Bank of International Settlement (BIS). QuantCube was one of the 21 firms shortlisted for the final stage of competition. G20 TechSprint attracted nearly 90 applications from more than 25 countries. In front of the judges, QuantCube presented its brand new solution, a platform that supports asset managers, asset owners, and banks to integrate environmental risk into their core investment processes.
The ability to accurately assess and integrate Environmental Risk into their short and longer-term decisions became of utmost importance for investors. QuantCube’s solution offers an opportunity for industry to drive sustainable finance through AI and the powerful use of alternative data. Our goal is to provide investors with more transparency into each company’s engagement with environmental risk. In particular, it is important to understand the level of exposure to environmental risk at a very granular level, as well as their trajectories compared to their peers within the sector. Performing transition and physical risk assessment begins with the ability to capture verifiable, accurate, and reliable data on environmental risk.

QuantCube has developed a solution that supports asset managers, asset owners, and banks to integrate environmental risk into their core investment processes. Built using a SaaS business model, the final product is a plug-and-play web-access platform that displays environmental indicators at corporate and asset levels. Our innovation is to combine alternative datasets including satellite data with advanced technologies such as computer vision to capture and accurately measure physical and transition risk at the corporate and asset level.
